Kabbalah Message to Next Generation
Likewise many other beliefs, Kabbalah puts great emphasis on altruism. It is mainly because we all are connected with each other internally. The treatment of nature always corresponds with this interconnectedness. The collective ‘human’ is referred to as ‘Adam’, as similar as the Creator himself, implying a single and a whole. However, as we are influenced by our external world, ego is formed as a result of the exerting force. In time, ego develops and we lose our sense of interconnectedness. This makes us apparently separated from each other.
Nature offers us two choices, one is altruism and other one is egoism. Altruism is the essential and core attribute of nature. Let us examine it deeply. Say, our body is constituted with millions billions of cells. Each cell possesses egoistic characteristic. In order to exist in its materialistic form, the cells must renounce the egoistic characteristic for the sake of the whole body. The reward from nature when the cell receives, it is not the individual reward that it attains, but the reward of life for the whole body.
If we look at our surroundings we can see all the natural products function in altruistic fashion. For example, water, minerals, plants and others. So it is quite apparent that the intrinsic law of nature incorporates altruism. The current catastrophe occurring around the world is mainly due to the fact that we simply follow our ego to perceive the world and nature. In simple terms, we are disobeying our Creator and nature as a whole. Every element in nature, except humans, follows the rule of nature – that is, altruism. Only we, the human being, are corrupted elements that largely depend on egoism but not on altruism. According to Kabbalistic approach, if we can shift our choice from egoism to altruism, every catastrophe will be stopped and an absolute balance will be established. There will be no war, no famine, no ecological disturbances, or no societal commotions.
In Kabbalah, altruism is greatly emphasized as a mean of understanding and governing the future. If one becomes altruistic, he will receive the gift of omniscience – the absolute wisdom. He will be able to think alike God and will reach to the dimension of absolute understanding of why everything is happening, when it should happen, what the consequence will be and how to moderate it differently. According to Kabbalistic perspective, this state is referred to as ‘equivalence of form’ – this is the integral purpose of Creation.
Kabbalah never forbids the procurement of ego shaping. It is mainly because of the fact that only attainment of egoism, an individual comes to realize the negativity of his egoistic characteristics as the source of all evil phenomena. It is where the correction begins, which is itself a powerful but personalized experience, but it consistently propels one to change, transcend from egoism to altruism. Kabbalah promotes this spiritual correction to make us aligned with the core essence of nature and Creator.
