There are various myths and misconceptions about Kabbalah that exist today and most of them are really popular among the mass. Let us explore few significant of them. First of all, there is a popular myth about Kabbalah that says Kabbalah is a religion. This is not entirely true. The fact is Kabbalah, as illustrated in Kabbalistic perspective, is a science. It has the power that describes the overall and absolute reality. Typically, it comprises the essence to explore the comprehensive reality practically hidden from our normal senses. The second interesting fact is there is no relation between red strings and holy water to that of Kabbalah. These are mere commercial products that have become popularized in recent decades. The third point is Kabbalah is not restricted to a few groups of people. It is a fact that during the exile period, it was limited to a selective group of individuals; however, since the time of Ari in 16th century, it is open to all. Some people believe that Kabbalah deals with any magic or it is full of superstitions. This is not correct. Kabbalah does not essentially promote any sort of magical interventions; rather it encourages the practical investigation of reality. Kabbalah is not a sect, but a wisdom open to each entity living in the earthly form without any restrictions. Hence the only prerequisite to study Kabbalah is a sincere and honest desire to explore the meaning and purpose of life. With the help of Kabbalah studies, we can understand how the entities and our surrounding world have been created, how we can attain interconnection with our life’s sources and how we can be aligned with the absolute wisdom of reality.
